Softwood Cutting of Korean Native Styrax japonicus for Landscape Tree Uses

Abstract

|
Three experiments were conducted using softwood cuttings of Styrax japonicus to evaluate the effects of IBA concentration, cutting dates, leaf attachment, and length of stem on percent rooting. Cuttings taken on July 15. rooted the most Rooting rate of Styrax japonicus increased with concentrated IBA, especially at 7,000 ㎎·L^(-1). Half-leaved cuttings were more effective than those with two leaves on rooting. Dipping for 10 seconds in IBA solution resulted in over 70% rooting.
